Tree as Education Symbol

Description: The students created adinkra symbol tiles. They drew designs for the tree and then they used papier mache and various embellishments to mosaic the surface along with their tiles. The study of leafs and the many patterns or logics wer created on fabric utilizing several processes.

A NESI Project

Description: Reading and math are the focus for all NESI programs. The study of the adinkra symbols along with the symetry and shape within the symbols met the above guidelines. The leafs became more imaginative in pattern as the process continued.

A Complete Environment

Description: This is just one wall of the many areas within Hartland Elementary School's cafeteria. Fabric pieces, painted plywood and papier mache and mosaic reliefs are the combined projects to create a feast for the eyes.

Framing a Banner

Description: This small addition of painted plywood to end frame the banner continued the flow of play from the big wall circulating throughout the cafeteria.
